What better way to celebrate Joomla's 5th birthday than with two original founding members of the Joomla! project: Andrew Eddie, know as ‘Mr Joomla’ around the forums and Brian Teeman, who is considered by many to be the ‘Voice of Joomla’. They join us to share memories of the history and their involvement in the project, as well as their vision for the future. The podcast is a fitting and enlightening tribute to Joomla! on its 5th anniversary. Happy Birthday Joomla!

Joomla Day DC Banner

Far and wide across this great nation, Joomla! users have been waiting. Waiting for their voice to be heard. Waiting for their vote to count. On October 16th at the footsteps of Washington DC, the wait will be over. We will finally be hearing from the President himself... Mr. Ryan Ozimek, President of Open Source Matters!

For many months now, NoVA Joomla has quietly lobbied from inside the Beltway to build a collation of representatives from across the nation. Delegates are traveling from the District of Columbia, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Virginia, Nebraska, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas; we're even expecting visitors from England and Greece! Will you be represented? Only if you attend! Come with us and wave the Red, Green, and Blue! (and orangey-yellow too!)

More Than One Way to Skin a Template

Joomla! is widely recognized as a CMS solution with templates in plentiful supply: template clubs, free templates, template frameworks, tools and generators*. The last two JoomStew shows have focused on what is under the hood of some commercial templates, and how to make templates usable. In our upcoming August 11 podcast, JoomStew Radio talks with freelancers Joe Sonne (JoeJoomla) , Dianne Henning, and Brian Sullivan, about how they approach adding a template to a new site. Do they custom build their own, or use a commercial template either out of the box or tweaked?

Homemade or instant?
