JoomStew Radio is Migrating from WordPress to Joomla!
Wordpress is Not Equal to Joomla
Well, it looks like we are finally going to make the move from WordPress to Joomla starting this week. We will not be posting a show over the next few weeks, and hopefully this will be the last blog post on this platform.
Dianne suggested we should make a case study out of this experience, so taking her idea one step farther, I decided I would do a live blog series over on my business site at Roberts Web Design.
So if you want to know the details of how we are migrating from WordPress 3.2 to Joomla 1.5, then Joomla 1.6 and finally Joomla 1.7 when it's released in a few weeks, you can follow along there. Here's the first post in the series:

With the Holidays just around the corner, the JoomStew crew thought it might be a good time to reflect back on our first year here at JoomStew, and get ready to bring you even more great Joomla! podcasts just as soon as 2011 kicks off.
We put up a poll a few weeks back and you've definitely voiced your opinion on what you want to hear! Look for a new JoomStew Radio Series on Marketing Your Business during the month of January, 2011 and we'll be sure to line up some great guests as well!

JoomStew DoomStew Photo Contest Winners

Over the past few weeks our community of JoomStew Listeners has participated in the DoomStew Photo Contest on our Facebook Fan page. It was a ton of fun and we got a lot of funny, cool and even scary entries from folks. Thanks to everyone who submitted a photo.
When Alice thought of the idea, we didn't even think to ask sponsors to offer prizes, but the day we went to publish the announcement, we decided to ask a few friends if they wanted to support our efforts and give away some cool stuff.
Thankfully, several of our friends stepped up to sponsor the contest, and low and behold it took off. You can see the full list of winners and prizes on the DoomStew Winners 2010 page, but here's the quick list if you're in a hurry.

JoomStew Rocks!
JoomStew Radio has seen quite a bit of growth over the past year. Amy Stephen and myself started out doing a series of shows on The Art of Community by Jono Bacon last Spring that was a huge success. Then Amy took some time off, and Alice Grevet came on-board and we kicked off a series of shows on Joomla Templates and Joomla Extensions that have been really popular as well.
Recently, JoomStew has been going through some changes to it's show schedule, and with it we've added our NewsBrief episodes that offer interviews with various Joomla! Community members. This has been a great addition to the schedule, but it's become double and sometimes triple the workload for Alice and myself.
Don't get me wrong, we love what we do, but with our day jobs and other commitments in and around the Joomla Community, it can become too much for us to handle on a weekly basis. That's why we've missed some episodes here and there.
Taking a Break…
After Joomla!'s big birthday bash last week, JoomStew is taking this week off to prepare for what's next. On September 15 we will kick off a new series of shows covering Joomla! extensions. Up first, two of the most popular CCK's (Content Construction Kits): K2 and FLEXIcontent. Power users Cristina Solana of Nightshift Creative, and Matthew Philogene of raramuridesign, join us to share their experience extending websites with these ingenious tools.
For Joomla!'s a jolly good CMS!
In the meantime, if you missed any of the numerous heartfelt wishes and comments that circulated last week marking the occasion of Joomla!'s 5th birthday, you will find many of them in the Thank You blog posted on the Community website. The list is long, and the outpouring of good feeling was expressed by so many with creativity and eloquence, from all around the world.
