Matias and Beyond 2011 Update

Thanks to you, we did it! We have achieved our goal to raise $2500.00 for Matias Aguirre's transportation and lodging to J! and Beyond 2011 in Kerkrade, Netherlands this May.

The tickets are purchased and reservations have been confirmed. Matias, the creator of the JUpgrade component will be at JAB11 in May.

In just under a 7 day period, from January 27th through February 2nd, 41 people donated money through the chip-in widgit and made this trip possible for Matias. 2 very generous people donated $500 or more, and 6 more donated at least a $100 each. It's truly amazing the generosity shown by the Joomla Community. Thank you all.

Call to Submit Proposals for JAB 11

One of the unique features of the J! and Beyond Event each year is the ability of all attendees to Submit Proposals for a presentation, tutorial or workshop that you want to see. The deadline for submissions is March 4, 2011 and they encourage anyone to share Tutorials, Discussions, Workshops, Working Methodology or New Technology on Business, Design or Development for Joomla! At the time of this post, there have already been 25 submissions to the Proposed Talks and Sessions list.

How to Participate at J and Beyond 2011

You can Register on the JAB11 Site to participate in session proposal and voting, submit a proposal or sign up to attend the J! and Beyond 2011 Event. Currently, the J and Beyond 2011 Ticket Shop is open and they are offering attendees a 25% discount on tickets purchased before April 1, 2011. Rooms are limited, so be sure to book your accommodations early as well.

JoomStew Radio at J and Beyond 2011

We plan to record some JoomStew Radio interviews at JAB11 this year, with Alice and Dianne both in attendance. If you plan to attend, be sure to look for the JoomStew Banner to keep up with the latest news and information!

Again, Matias and the JoomStew crew would like to thank everyone that donated and promoted this effort. You guys make us proud to be part of the Joomla Community.
