Dianne and Alice are currently at J and Beyond 2011 in Kerkrade, Netherlands for the huge Joomla! developer conference. Ebay decided to throw a big Barbecue at the end of Day 1 and the girls decided to set up camp outside and had a steady flow of great guests who came by for a chat.

Highlights of the Discussion
This segment has a lot of great discussion that starts with Henrik and Sarah talking about how nice it is to network with people face to face that we normally only see online. It really makes for a great bonding experience with folks.
Javier Gomez shares about his experience with OSM and the Spanish speaking Joomla! Community and how those barriers continue to come down and the Spanish community is becoming more involved in the core Joomla community. He also mentions our friend Matias Aquirre who created the jUpgrade Component.
Jacque Rentzke from OSM shared how he really enjoyed meeting people that may disagree online, but when you get to meet them face to face, you realize we are all here to contribute our time for free to Joomla!
Jen Kramer talked about her Women in Joomla session and how women are actually well represented in Joomla, compared to other areas of computer science. The problem is, we don't have enough people contributing to the project as a whole. Jen then brought up a great suggestion about the need for more International communities in Joomla and how the Joomla installer could be a great gateway to get people connected with the various Resources from the different languages.
7 More Beers! Thanks Ebay!
Henrik discussed how Molajo is contributing back to the project and the discussion that broke out during the presentation. He added a submission to http://ideas.joomla.org to contribute more of the Molajo project back into the core.
Ashwin Date discussed the idea that Joomla should create a similar project to the Google GHOP and GSOC contests. This might get more people involved.
Jacques discussed the session that Herman Peeran gave on the future of Joomla 2.0 and the passion he has for the project. Someone he called an undiscovered gem of the community and the need to get these type of people involved in the core.
Alice gave a shout out for the 6 minute lightning talks and how she though there were some fantastic ideas during those sessions.
Dianne closed this little interview with her take on the ad-hoc OSM session that occurred that morning. She really enjoyed the questions and answers that were given during that talk.
Stay tuned for more!

That was great, thanks Dianne and Alice for your interviews on property and to Robert for getting this out to folks. Wanted to say thanks to Henrik for your comments about Molajo and clear up confusion about the Molajo code base. Since we have not yet submitted any Molajo code for consideration into core, it has not been rejected.
I fully expect the release of the Joomla Framework to spawn a number of cool projects and that next year, we’ll have many teams sharing their work. It can’t all go into core. But, we can all build cool things with Joomla, use the GPL so that it can be considered for that purpose.
