Joomla 1.6 Development Update

The pace of development for the new Joomla! 1.6 beta release was pushed back again last week on the official Joomla! blog, but yet all this did was seem to light a fire under developers to push through even harder to reach the end.

Feature Freeze for 1.6 will go into effect on May 5, 2010 and the development will shift gears to the Joomla Bug Squad to get Joomla 1.6 ready for Beta release which is expected to be in June some time, with a Stable release around July.

Right now the Joomla Bug Squad could use your help with bug squashing the upcoming Beta and you can join in even if you don't know how to code. There needs to be testing done on all aspects of the administration and front end of Joomla 1.6 and there's a fresh copy posted nightly as well.
