JoomStew Radio – Getting to Know Nooku Server

Getting to Know Nooku Server

This week JoomStew Radio sat down with Johan and Tom Janssens to discuss the upcoming Nooku Server release, a Joomla! 1.5 distribution.  It's always a good show when Johan stops by, but this week's show has a lot of great information on what we can expect in the upcoming Alpha 3 version of Nooku Server.

Tom is the lead UI/UX Designer for the Nooku Server release and with the help of the Nooku developer community has implemented a truckload of updates to the Administrator area that will make our lives easier. There's also a lengthy discussion in the last half hour of the show on the topic of ACL that you will certainly want to listen to as well.

This was by far the longest show we've done to date, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to split it up into 2 shows. So get ready for an hour and half long podcast!

Thanks again to Tom and Johan for taking the time to sit down with us to discuss Nooku Server, we learned so much, and hope our listeners do as well!

JoomStew Radio Special – Return of the JEDI

For this special episode of JoomStew Radio we decided to have a little fun in our JoomStew show notes around a serious subject. Perhaps no section of joomla.org draws in more people than the JED (Joomla! Extensions Directory).

Jedi Knights Matt Lipscomb and Paul Orwig

The JED has been in the news a lot lately and our JEDI knight guests joined us to shed some light on the issues. In the roles of JEDI masters we welcome Paul Orwig and Matt Lipscomb, both CLT members (Joomla! Community Leadership Team) and co-leaders of the JED team. David Deutsch, of valanx.org, joins us as in the role of dashing and articulate developer.

What better way to celebrate Joomla's 5th birthday than with two original founding members of the Joomla! project: Andrew Eddie, know as ‘Mr Joomla’ around the forums and Brian Teeman, who is considered by many to be the ‘Voice of Joomla’. They join us to share memories of the history and their involvement in the project, as well as their vision for the future. The podcast is a fitting and enlightening tribute to Joomla! on its 5th anniversary. Happy Birthday Joomla!
